Earlier this year we were getting ready to start a new craft club in Irthlingborough, North Northamptonshire. Sadly, at the eleventh hour, that plan fell through and we had to work against the clock to find an alternative venue.

A Chilly Dip

Yet that’s what Wendy Knight, Gwen Tack and a group of sea dippers from McCarthy Stone did earlier this year to raise money for good causes – and Pink House Arts was one of the lucky beneficiaries.

A craft club is, of course, a sociable activity, but doing crafts together can also be a great confidence-booster. We’ve been running a club in a local retirement complex for a couple of years now, but last December had to pause things as we searched for new funding.
Tackling rural isolation
